I have been writing this blog for well over 4 years . I have met many people who have read it , from the East Coast to the West coast and some countries I have never been to . The most common thread in this is we are all human and we all have a story. With that, I would like to share a story from a friend of mine who wanted to share his story. Thank you for sharing Michael! Although it has nothing to do with HIV or Hep-C it is about caring for yourself and reaching out for help here is his story..
I know you of all people will understand.........
"Six years ago in Feb, I was staying with friends in North San Diego county for the weekend.....suffered a heart attack early sat morning.....I was revived in the ambulance.........I know the blessing I had bestowed on me that day and I knew the purpose for me remaining here was unfulfilled.
There were six things that morning (seven counting a Higher Power) that had to work that morning for me to have survived......
Parmedic station was three blocks from my friends house
No traffic at 8:30 am on that sat morning
Regional medical center was less than 20 minutes from my friend's house
The ER was empty when I got there so I got 100% of the attention
The med center had an experimental anti-clot medication that I got within 15 minutes of the event
Within 45 mins of having the heart attack I had an angioplasty, stent implant and was coming out of recovery room.
I take nothing for granted. I wake up each day enjoying the precious moments of each day and I don't worry about tomorrow as tomorrow may not come. I live life to its fullest each day. I am not worried about dying, I know when the purpose I am here for has been fulfilled it will be my time, but I don't try to figure it out, I let it come to me.
You, Sean are an inspiration to me. I get so much positiveness reading your posts. You are a man who gets it and you too are blessed.
Now you know why I have an awesome car!
Hope you read this response in the spirit that I have shared it with you. I laughed at the men's menopause but I also know I am supposed to share my story!
Take care, my brother! You are a very good man."
