Liver pain isn't something to play around with. Of course these things have to happen on the weekend!
Definately call your Doctor tomorrow! If it gets worst or you start to run a fever you should call whoever is on call for your Doctor today. Don't wait!
The study that you found sounds awesome if the co-infection is for HIV and Hep C with any other Geno type than Type 1.
Geno type 1 is the hardest to clear even with 48 weeks of weekly Interferon and daily Ribavin.
With this study being interferon every 2 weeks I'd be willing to bet that they aren't taking Geno Type 1 patients (it doesn't say on the web link).
If they are, I don't think I'd risk it.
Clearing on your first try of tx is your best chance. After that your chances get lower.
But then again I'm just a lay person and not a Doctor. As a Hep C with Geno Type 1 patient I'd ask a few different Doctors before I would start it.
Maybe taking the HIV meds along with the Interferon and Ribavirin is what makes the difference...I don't know....
I hope you're feeling better today! Hopefully your liver pain has let up.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Take care my friend.
((Hugs))
